Outdoor Patch Cable for Direct Burial, Aerial and OSP Applications



Outdoor patch cable - These cables are primarily used for Outside Plant (OSP), Aerial, Direct Burial and Conduit applications. They are made from Commscope 5NF4 cable, so unlike regular patch cables, these cables can be exposed to the elements and wont break down because the jacket is UV- and abrasion-resistant Polyethylene (PE). The jacket is also much thicker than a standard patch cable, making these ideal for outdoor applications. The cable is flooded with a waterproof gel that prevents moisture from entering and corroding the individual conductors. One of the most common uses for these cables is when people need to run a cat5e cable from inside their house to a detached garage, shed, etc. Some people have used regular cat5e patch cables and found out quickly that they are not made to withstand the elements.
